Tomatoes
So, what's with the tomatoes this year? Ours are all still green. We've got loads but they're not ripening. No blight or blossom-end rot so far (touch wood), but no ripe ones either. Other people at our allotment seem to be having the same experience, but this is very late for tomatoes to still be green. How are other people in other parts of the country doing tomato-wise?

yep still green here too, loads on the bushes but just not ripening. :(
Mine are still green, but it's my first year growing them and I didn't know that they were supposed to be anything else yet!
Still VERY green here, except for a yellow variety we have they've been ripening a treat - very strange!
Ours are still mostly green too. There's one just starting to turn... Maybe it was the lack of sun last week?
Still green here too, I have heard of haning a banana with the tomatoes as they have a ripening effect. Might be worth a try.
I have about 15 plants (!) and all the tomatoes are green except for two (on different plants) that are now orange!!!!
Last year my tomatoes were still green at the end of August so I picked them all to use in chutney as we were going away for 4 weeks and didn't want to miss out!!!
Ours are just going red - enough for dinner yesterday. Lots still green though!
I've been picking red tomatoes for over 10 days now, but they are on a south facing patio and against a brickwall. My dad reckons the wall heats up in the very little sunshine and radiates behind them. Everyone else I know is still in green tomato land.
Good to know it's not just me then! Next year I'll keep some plants in pots against my south-facing wall and maybe I'll get some earlier ones!
mine are plentiful but green too!
Late ripening here too (South Coast), getting some now though. I think it's just the way the weather has been again. Plenty to come now though, and green tomato chutney for those that don't ripen.
Woohoo, our first tomatoes are now turning and we should have 2 or 3 ripe tomorrow or the next day!
good for you, I have one that is orange, but we're going away, so I think I might pick it and bring it inside.
