We all kind of trapped ourselves when we bought into the "go struggle for a living so you can pay someone to grow your food" way of life. How much better for those of us wanting out if we had simply grown our food and built our homes instead of borrowing to acquire all this typical clap-trap. You can do it. Your yurt is interesting. Have you looked at earth bag construction at all? I'm rooting for you!Leddy Landershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05907361460441823345noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9054275342036789468.post-69288536126284375022011-03-12T15:13:50.869-08:002011-03-12T15:13:50.869-08:00Just catching on on your blog - so many exciting ...Just catching on on your blog - so many exciting things happening. I suppose change in itself is a big stressor and that twinned with getting through as you rightly say THE most miserable winter I've known for a long time, (where is the sun?)it's enough to drive anyone a bit potty! It was quite an eye opener for me realising how much I rely on the internet when ours went wrong recently, (I felt a little ashamed too!) But its great that all is well again on that front, and Spring really is around the corner, and everyones entitled to a bad day every so often (especially us women!) Hope you have a better day today. They should not have been used, but they were - and yes, I agree to celebrate VJ day is distasteful... yes there was an end to the war, yes it's estimated it saved many many lives, inspite of death the bombs wrought.... but still the use of those bombs was a turning point in human history and not a good turning point either.

If anything it should be about honouring the people that died, and remembering the awful power of those bombs - and those who suffered and died years and years later because of the radiation :-(

How on earth can anyone celebrate such a shameful event?Joxy34https://www.blogger.com/profile/08395070160887950878noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9054275342036789468.post-67238913053558434442010-08-09T09:56:25.165-07:002010-08-09T09:56:25.165-07:00My goodness Liz you must be exhausted pondering al...My goodness Liz you must be exhausted pondering all these disasters! And I really admire your integrity and committment to the world community.
But I hope it's not presumptuous of me to just say that there is much in the community that is not disaster, that is beautiful, that feeds our spirits and it helps us to look at those too. We recently visited an orthadox Jewish synagogue and that inspired the children to ask some questions which I answered honestly and didn't tell them more than they asked.
